Discover the views across northern Fuerteventura<\/strong><\/h4>

Fuerteventura can also be discovered from its mountains. This hiking route to Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga<\/strong> takes us into the north of the island, through a volcanic landscape and to one of its most prominent peaks.<\/p>

We will pick you up from your accommodation at the agreed time<\/strong> and head towards the starting point of the route. From the base of Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga<\/strong>, we will begin our ascent along ancient paths linked to traditional farming and the use of camels<\/strong> for transportation.<\/p>

A first viewpoint over the north<\/strong><\/h3>

As we gain elevation, the landscape gradually opens up around us. Halfway up the ascent, we will reach our first viewpoint<\/strong>, where we can pause and take in the northern part of Fuerteventura<\/strong> from an increasingly wider perspective.<\/p>

From here, we can appreciate the volcanic terrain surrounding the mountain and see how our perception of the landscape changes as we continue climbing.<\/p>

After this first stop, we will continue towards the upper part of Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga<\/strong>, crossing the area around its caldera as we gradually leave the lower slopes behind.<\/p>

Climbing Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga<\/strong><\/h3>

At 533 metres above sea level<\/strong>, Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga is the highest point of this route and, according to the information provided, the highest mountain in Fuerteventura<\/strong>.<\/p>

As we climb, we can observe how the landscape changes with elevation, moving through an environment shaped by volcanic landforms and marked by traces of traditional land use.<\/p>

The route offers an opportunity to explore the relationship between geology, landscape and human activity<\/strong>, all of which form part of Fuerteventura’s story.<\/p>

The summit: a 360\u00b0 panorama<\/strong><\/h3>

Reaching the summit offers a completely different perspective.<\/p>

From the top of Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga, we will enjoy a 360-degree panorama<\/strong>, allowing us to look out across the landscape in every direction and gain a broad view of northern Fuerteventura.<\/p>

After gradually gaining elevation from the base, reaching the summit allows us to see the landscape on a different scale<\/strong> and recognise from above some of the features we have encountered along the way.<\/p>

Return with the essence of Fuerteventura<\/strong><\/h3>

After reaching the summit of Monta\u00f1a Escanfraga<\/strong> and taking in the landscape from its 533-metre elevation, we will begin our descent, enjoying a different perspective of the surroundings we have explored.<\/p>

We will descend the mountain, leaving the volcanic landscape behind as we reconnect with the ancient paths and traces of traditional activities<\/strong> that form part of this territory.<\/p>

We will finish the route having experienced Fuerteventura from a different perspective: walking through its mountains, understanding its landscape and getting closer to the history of the people who have lived here<\/strong>.<\/p>
