This challenging hiking route gives you the opportunity to discover the natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes of Fuerteventura while reaching the highest point on the island.
After picking you up at the scheduled time, we will head to the starting point of the trail that leads to Pico de la Zarza.
Known locally by the Majoreros as Oreja Burro (“Donkey’s Ear”), Pico de la Zarza rises to 807 metres, making it the highest mountain in Fuerteventura. It is located in the south of the island, within the Jandía Natural Park.
As we ascend the sheltered side of the mountain, we will encounter a few steep sections. However, once we reach the summit, the spectacular panoramic views will make every step worthwhile.
From the highest point on the island, you’ll feel as though you’re touching the sky, with kilometres of wild, untouched beaches stretching out beneath your feet.
From the summit, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the Jandía Arch, its dramatic cliffs—remnants of an ancient volcanic formation—as well as the stunning beaches of Cofete and Barlovento.
After taking a well-earned break and capturing some unforgettable photos, we will begin our return to the starting point along the same trail.
