The Arch and the Caves Hiking Route

Unique Places in the Canary Islands and Geology at Its Finest

HIKING

This easy hike consists of two short walking routes through the Betancuria Rural Park and the Ajuy Natural Monument. It offers the perfect opportunity to discover the landscapes and authentic spirit of Fuerteventura while enjoying the island’s remarkable nature and geology.

After our guide picks you up from your accommodation at the scheduled time, we will head to the Betancuria Rural Park, where the first part of the adventure begins. We will hike up a ravine to discover a sacred site before continuing to a spectacular natural rock arch, a fascinating geological formation shaped over thousands of years.

Next, we will travel to the picturesque fishing village of Ajuy, a place of great geological and historical importance that has been declared a Natural Monument. Here, the second part of the route begins.

Following an easy coastal trail, we will reach the impressive volcanic caves before ending our journey on Ajuy’s beautiful black sand beach.
